About us

For nearly a decade, C.A.'s Diner has been more than just a place to grab a meal; it has been a gathering spot for family, friends, and neighbors. In 2016, Tony proudly purchased the diner and chose to keep the name originally given by the previous owner, honoring a beloved family member, Clarence Anderson. Out of respect for that tribute and the sense of history and community it represented — including the loyal staff and regulars who helped shape the diner’s spirit — the name remained. Clarence’s photo still greets guests as they walk through the doors, a reminder that tradition and family are at the heart of everything here.

Over time, C.A.'s has taken on even more meaning. To some, it stands for Comfortable Atmosphere. To others, Calming Appetites or Classic American food. Around the grill, it might even mean Chef’s Affection. But to this family, it simply means home.

Tony is the heart and soul behind the kitchen window. If you’ve ever been welcomed with a wave and a smile while your breakfast hits the griddle, you’ve already seen his passion at work. Originally from Canada, he remains a loyal fan of the Montreal Canadiens, proudly keeping his love for hockey alive even in the South. He is also half Greek and grew up immersed in the restaurant business, learning from his father, who owned several restaurants and bars. Hospitality, hard work, and the belief that food brings people together were early lessons that continue to shape the diner every day.

Most days, Tony can be found grilling Southern classics, hearty burgers, and breakfast favorites with a big laugh and an even bigger love for the community he now calls home. His commitment to local schools runs deep, especially programs like the NBHS Marching Band and Ultimate Frisbee team. Those organizations were incredibly meaningful to his son during his school years, providing friendship, purpose, and a sense of belonging — and many of his son’s band friends remain part of the diner family today, working alongside us up front or in the back of the house because they love our family and the community we’ve built together. The diner is also proud to support local first responders, a cause close to the family’s heart since one of their daughters is pursuing a career in Criminal Justice and attending the police academy.

While the diner began as Tony’s dream, it is truly a family effort. All of the kids learned invaluable lessons growing up in the diner. Those experiences have guided three of them into the restaurant industry, where they are now gaining professional experience while attending college. His wife can often be found at the register, clearing tables, talking with customers, and managing the marketing and social media that keep everyone connected. Together, they work to support Tony’s vision: serving good food with warmth, consistency, and care, while building a place where everyone feels welcome.

Outside the diner, the family enjoys mountain getaways, beach trips, and exploring local restaurants—especially those with NY-style thin-crust pizza, perfectly cooked medium-rare steak, or flavors inspired by Tony’s Greek roots.

At C.A.'s Diner, every plate is served with gratitude. What began as a name honoring one family member has grown into a place sustained by another — committed to good food, genuine hospitality, and being a lasting staple in the community for years to come.
